The Hansa (or Grüne Hansa) variety is known primarily as genetic material for breeding programs. It was used in the creation of fertile blackcurrant and gooseberry hybrids (Jostaberries), and also participated in the breeding of specific gooseberry varieties, in particular the Belye Nochi variety.
Data on the morphological traits of the variety are limited. The fruits are described as green, suitable for use in desserts. The bush is characterized by shoots below the average level in size and growth vigor. A detailed agronomic description of the variety as an independent fruit crop is absent.
