ActiveRubus idaeus L. · Red raspberry
Vinson Peter Edward
10 August 2026
The fruits of the variety have a characteristic yellow-orange color. Studies have shown that it is caused by a mutation in which the presence of a transposon in the anthocyanidin synthase gene reduces the concentration of anthocyanins responsible for the red color of the berries.
Under field conditions, when tested for root rot infection, the variety demonstrated high resistance to these diseases. In scientific literature, it is also used as an object for studying chemical composition, including sugar content, acids, and antioxidant activity.
The variety is of value for breeding work aimed at understanding the genetic mechanisms of fruit color formation and is frequently mentioned in the context of genetic collections.
