Variety description

10 August 2026

The plant reaches about 1 meter in height and 0.75 meters in diameter. The leaves are elliptical in shape and have a glossy surface. In mid-to-late spring, dense paniculate inflorescences with white flowers are formed, after which clusters of round red berries develop.

Skimmia japonica is a dioecious plant, therefore, the presence of a male pollinator is necessary for fruit formation. The variety prefers partial shade or shade and well-drained moist soils. The plant's berries are poisonous and unsuitable for consumption.

The plant is resistant to air pollution and is rarely damaged by animals. It is used in ornamental gardening for border landscaping, as well as for growing in containers and tubs.
