Aiainen Ruusu is a synonym for the widely distributed historical variety Early Rose. It is a very early variety, ready for harvest 6–8 weeks after planting.
The tubers have light pink skin, white flesh, and a somewhat irregular, knobby shape. The plant produces many white flowers. In terms of culinary properties, the variety is characterized as slightly floury.
The variety does not possess high disease resistance, which is typical for many old potato varieties.
