The tubers of the variety are small and have an elongated, often curved shape. The skin is golden in color, sometimes with mottling, and the flesh is golden-yellow. The height of the foliage of a mature plant ranges from 50 to 70 cm.
The variety is classified as mid-season or mid-late. It is characterized by low to medium yield and moderate keeping quality during storage. Due to high susceptibility to late blight, common scab, and viral infections, it requires careful maintenance.
The flesh is firm and does not disintegrate, which makes the variety suitable for preparing salads, frying, or steaming. It possesses a characteristic chestnut or nutty flavor. Known under the synonyms La Ratte and Corne de Mouton.
