The variety is a historical landrace that has not undergone industrial breeding. It possesses an extensive list of regional synonyms, which indicates its widespread distribution in Sweden and neighboring countries. Genetically identical to the Blå Torpar variety.
The tubers are medium to small in size and have a dark skin, which may turn black upon exposure to sunlight due to the shallow position of the tubers in the soil. The flesh is yellow; a distinctive morphological feature is the presence of a purple ring directly beneath the skin.
