The Biranco variety is known in potato growing as a breeding resource, on the basis of which many modern European varieties were developed, including Impala and Alina. In breeding practice, the variety is considered as historical material that participated in starch content improvement programs.
Tubers have a medium dormancy period. In the course of comparative yield and quality indicator trials, the starch content for the variety was noted at the 12.9% level.
