The variety was obtained as a result of crossing 'Wasseon' and 'Maris Piper'. The plant is of medium size, semi-erect type with weakly pigmented stems. Tubers have a round-oval shape, slightly rough skin and medium-depth eyes located predominantly at the apex.
The variety is characterized as medium-yielding, suitable for boiling and fresh consumption, and possesses good keeping quality. When tubers turn green, glycoalkaloid levels may exceed standards. Resistant to golden potato nematode (race 1), wart (race 1) and viruses PVA, PVX, PVY; has moderate resistance to late blight of foliage, scab and phoma rot.
