The variety was obtained by crossing (Chippewa × Katahdin) × (3895-13 × Earlaine). The plant is large and upright, with thick, angular stems without pigmentation. The flowers are white and often drop before fully opening.
The tubers have an oval-round shape, thin creamy-beige skin, and shallow eyes. The tuber flesh is white. The variety is characterized by high or field resistance to late blight of leaves, tuber necrosis, and viruses A and Y. However, it is susceptible to Verticillium wilt, common scab, Rhizoctonia, and certain types of rots. The tubers are prone to rapid greening when exposed to light.
