The variety Rioja (synonym Százszorszép) belongs to the mid-early group with a growing season of about 115 days. The plant forms a strong stem, high bushiness, and large shiny light green leaves. The oval tubers have shallow eyes, pink skin, and light yellow flesh, maintaining their shape during culinary processing.
The dry matter content in the tubers is 22–23%. The variety is characterized by complex resistance to potato viruses (PVY, PVA, PVX, PLRV), nematodes, and common scab. It is adapted to abiotic stresses, including drought and heat. Due to a long dormancy period, the variety has excellent keeping quality.
