The hybrid Hyso was obtained by crossing Sorghum bicolor and Sorghum sudanense. This crop is being researched as a biomass source and is also used in experiments on soil decontamination from heavy metals, including cadmium and zinc.

In field experiments with sowing in early May, the dry matter yield is about 10.6 t/ha. The recommended seeding rate is 24–30 kg/ha with a row spacing of 25 to 30 cm.
