The hybrid was obtained through controlled pollination using selection for resistance to downy mildew and specific flowering traits, including delayed male flowering in the female parent line.

The plant has medium to dark green leaf intensity with a slight degree of blistering. When sown in spring, the variety demonstrates an intermediate time to bolting.

The spinach is resistant to a number of downy mildew Peronospora farinosa races, including races 5, 6, and 7, but may be susceptible to race Pfs16.
