The shrub forms a dense rounded crown with a height and width of 40 to 90 cm. Young leaves have an intense plum-purple or reddish hue, which persists on new growth throughout the season, gradually changing to dark green.
Flowering begins in late spring or early summer and lasts until autumn; inflorescences are corymbose, dense, cherry-pink or purple-pink in color. The variety is summer-flowering, forming flowers on current-year shoots.
The plant possesses high winter hardiness (USDA zones 4–9) and disease resistance. The shrub maintains a compact shape without a tendency to lodging; it is used in landscape design for borders, mass plantings, and container cultivation.
