ActiveTaxus baccata L. · European yew

The variety has a slender columnar shape and is considered one of the narrowest representatives of the species, reaching 0.4–0.5 meters in width. The branches and shoots are directed strictly upwards, which prevents the plant from lodging. The expected height of an adult plant is 2–3 meters with a slow growth rate.
The needles are dark green, glossy, with rounded tips, and non-prickly; young shoots are light green. During the winter period, the needles may acquire a slight bronze shade. It is a male clone and does not produce fruit. The plant is poisonous.
The variety is resistant to urban conditions and winter-hardy (USDA zone 5). It is undemanding to soil conditions and tolerates sunny and semi-shaded locations well. It is sensitive to water stagnation and prefers well-drained soils.
