Variety description

The plant is an evergreen coniferous shrub with widely spreading branches, reaching a height of 2–3 meters. A characteristic feature is the bright golden-yellow color of the young needles, which may acquire a greenish hue with age. The bark has a reddish tint; in September, juicy bright red arils surrounding the seeds form on the bushes.
The variety possesses good winter hardiness and resistance to diseases. For normal development, it requires well-drained and humus-rich soils, as it is sensitive to waterlogging. The plant is valued for its dense structure, which allows it to be shaped into topiary figures, such as spheres.
