Variety description

The variety is a dwarf shrub reaching 0.5–1.0 m in height at maturity. The plant is characterized by a slow growth rate with an annual increment of 4 to 8 cm. The shoots are short, rigid, and densely arranged.

The needles are dark green, and may change their shade to gray-green or bronze during the winter period. The variety is light-loving, resistant to frost and diseases, and tolerates loads under the weight of snow well. It prefers fertile, moderately moist, and well-drained soils.

The plant is used in landscape design for creating alpine gardens, rock gardens, borders, as well as for single and group plantings, including container gardening.
