The variety has a spreading growth habit; the height of the foliage is about 10 cm, reaching 15 cm with flower stalks. The plant is capable of spreading to 60–90 cm in width. The leaves have a glossy surface, are heart-shaped, and are colored in a combination of green, purple, and red tones.
Flowering occurs from April to June, when the plant produces white flowers that develop from pink buds. The variety is characterized by winter hardiness in USDA zones 4–9 and resistance to deer browsing. It is used as a groundcover, for containers, and in hanging baskets.
