The plant forms a compact clump 15–20 cm in height; during flowering, flower stalks reach 25–35 cm. Leaves are bright green with a dark purple or black pattern along the veins; in winter, the foliage acquires a reddish-bronze shade.

Flowering occurs from mid-spring to early summer with small creamy-white flowers in raceme inflorescences. The variety is winter-hardy, suitable for growing in shaded and partially shaded conditions, in containers or mixed borders.
