Tiarella variety Sugar and Spice is a herbaceous perennial forming dense mounds 20–30 cm in height, reaching 35 cm with flower stalks. The plant's leaves are palmately lobed, deeply dissected, bright green in color with a pronounced dark burgundy or reddish-brown pattern in the center.

The flowers are small, gathered in upright racemose inflorescences of a white or pale pink shade. Flowering occurs during the spring-summer period. The plant is characterized by high winter hardiness and adaptability to shaded conditions, preferring fertile, moderately moist, and well-drained soils.
