Bison is a historical winter wheat variety developed in the USA. Its origin is linked to breeding in the state of Montana and the use of genetic material from the Turkey variety.

This variety is widely known in agricultural literature and genetic studies as a carrier of the loose smut resistance gene designated as Bt4.
