The variety belongs to the winter wheat group and is adapted to the conditions of northern European regions with severe winters and a short growing season. During long-term trials, it demonstrated good lodging resistance, which made it a significant subject for agronomic research.
Bjorke grain has soft endosperm, a high level of water absorption, and a protein content of 11.4%. Due to its properties, the wheat is used in the flour milling industry as raw material for baking, and also serves as a reference sample when studying the stability of grain biochemical composition.
