The winter soft wheat variety Dobrochyn was included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2013. Its development is associated with the activities of the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute – National Center of Seed Science and Variety Testing in the city of Odesa.
In scientific research, the variety is considered primarily in the context of studying genetic markers of resistance to fungal diseases, in particular, the presence of the Lr34 allele associated with resistance to leaf rust. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant and grain quality indicators are presented fragmentarily in open publications.
