The variety was selected by breeders from source material obtained from the international center CIMMYT. It belongs to the spring maturity group and reaches maturity within the typical timeframes for spring varieties of this breeding line.
The grain of the variety shows an increased protein content. During biological studies, the variety demonstrated a high capacity for the formation of embryogenic structures in tissue culture; its photosynthetic activity and chlorophyll dynamics were also studied under various conditions.
