The variety was bred at Bc Institut d.d. Zagreb under the direction of Svetka Korić. The main feature of the breeding was the use of the genetic complex of ear branching, which allowed for an increase in crop yield.
The variety is characterized by protein content in the grain above the average level. In 1980s literature, the variety is mentioned in the context of research on resistance to rust.
