The variety is a carrier of the intermediate strength allele Ne2ms of the hybrid necrosis gene, as well as the dwarfism gene Rht-D1b, which affects plant height. It is adapted to the conditions of the United Kingdom and belongs to winter forms.
In agronomic research, it is used as a standard for evaluating resistance to leaf septoria and Fusarium head blight. The variety does not exhibit resistance to the pathogen Microdochium nivale.
