The variety was obtained by crossing Theißweizen and Marquisweizen. Plants have medium to tall stem height and medium lodging resistance. The variety possesses good winter hardiness and an early maturity group.
Strong susceptibility of the variety to leaf rust is noted, with medium resistance to stem rust. High baking indicators, in particular very high crude gluten content, allow this variety to be used as an improver for low-quality flour.
The variety is adapted for cultivation in the Pannonian Basin conditions, and was also successfully cultivated in a number of alpine regions. Currently, the variety is used within the framework of agrobiodiversity maintenance programs as a conservation variety.
