The Miño variety (formerly known as line E1L2) was developed as part of the work of the Centro de Investigaciones Agrarias de Mabegondo (CIAM) for use in local Galician collections. The purpose of creating the variety is to preserve traditional diversity and ensure product authenticity.
The variety is intended for the production of bread with a protected geographical indication. The agromorphological characteristics of the variety demonstrate stability and meet the requirements for the registration of commercial varieties.
