The variety was bred by crossing a local landrace from the Kleinartal valley with a breeding strain resistant to stem rust. The plant is characterized by a medium-length stem, a white awned ear of medium or loose density, and small- or medium-sized light brown grain.
It belongs to mid-early varieties with good lodging resistance and medium or good winter hardiness. It is distinguished by very high resistance to stem rust with low or medium susceptibility to powdery mildew and leaf rust. Quality indicators include a medium or high hectolitre weight of grain and good wet gluten content.
