The variety is a local landrace adapted to traditional farming methods of the Sandomierz region. In the past, the grain of this wheat was in high demand for baking and was exported to Western European countries; however, by the 1970s, the variety had fallen out of mass circulation.
The current status of the variety is linked to reconstruction projects based on samples from gene banks. The variety does not possess the characteristics of high-intensity modern hybrids, such as high yield or specific lodging resistance, and is not currently used in industrial production.
