The Sigma variety was included in breeding trials during the period 1992–1998. In research materials from 1990–1994, it was classified as spring wheat and demonstrated basic yield for its time.

Quality characteristics of the grain during the trial period included a protein content of about 12.7% and a thousand kernel weight of about 39.4 g. Detailed morphological traits of the variety, including plant height and disease resistance, are extremely limited in open sources.
