The variety is traditionally used for pasta production due to the good technological properties of the grain. It is characterized by its anther extrusion ability, which is an important trait when studying spike resistance to Fusarium.

In agronomic studies, the variety is classified as sensitive to drought and susceptible to certain types of nematodes. In modern breeding work, Capdur is more often used as a parent form and a historical benchmark for improving the resistance of new wheat lines.
