The Coloraillo variety is the result of a natural cross between the Marufo and Tempranillo varieties. It belongs to wine grape varieties and is often used in blends for the production of local wines.

It belongs to the group of "grey" varieties, the berries of which are capable of changing color from white to reddish as they ripen. In official catalogs, the skin color is usually classified as red. The variety demonstrates high adaptation to the arid conditions of central Spain, maintaining yields during moisture deficits.

Wines from this variety possess a balanced profile, combining fresh acidity with aromas of red berries, floral and citrus notes, and a light minerality. The variety is considered to be rare and is at risk of extinction.
