The Colombaud grape, also known as Colombo or Colombaud du Var, is an ancient variety from Provence. It is characterized by very vigorous growth and a hermaphroditic flower type. The leaves are large, rounded, slightly lobed, blistered and ruffled, with slight pubescence on the underside.

The clusters of the variety are medium or large, conical, and dense. The berries are medium, slightly oval, white in color, with thin skin, juicy flesh, and a harmonious flavor. The variety is characterized by low resistance to frost and fungal diseases, including gray mold (Botrytis cinerea), and sensitivity to growing conditions.

The variety is adapted to hot climates and poor soils, demonstrating high yields with short pruning. Wines produced from this grape are distinguished by clarity and high acidity, and are historically used in blends of local white and rosé wines.
