The variety has medium-sized, conical-shaped bunches, which can be either dense or loose. The berries are medium-sized, spherical in shape, and covered with thick and firm skin. The berry pedicels are characterized by fragility and an elongated shape.

The variety is a wine grape and was historically used to create wines in blends with a protected designation of origin. It is important to distinguish this variety from the Sardinian red variety Pascale di Cagliari, as well as from winery brands and decorative rose varieties with a similar name.
