The variety is a local Catalan autochthon, cultivated since the 14th century. The leaf is medium-sized, rounded, and slightly lobed. Bunches are large or medium, cylindrical-conical, and loose. Berries are medium-sized, rounded, and green-yellow in color.

The variety belongs to the very late ripening groups and is characterized by early bud break. Yield is average; the highest quality fruit is obtained on poor limestone soils. The variety is susceptible to oidium but possesses relative resistance to gray mold.

Wines from this variety are distinguished by high acidity and a delicate fruit-floral aroma with notes of green apple, citrus, and flowers. The bulk of the harvest is used to create sparkling wines in blends.
