Variety description

The variety is vigorous and productive, characterized by late budburst. Clusters are medium, conical, and moderately dense. Berries are medium-sized, ranging from spherical to slightly oval, with a brownish-red color, waxy bloom, and juicy pulp.

The plant is demanding in care and sensitive to diseases such as downy mildew, powdery mildew, grey mold, and sour rot, and is also prone to flower shedding and millerandage. There is a silvery tint on the underside of the leaves.

Wines produced with this variety possess expressive tannins, a fruity character, and aromas of honeysuckle, narcissus, pepper, licorice, and tobacco. The variety is considered rare and is used to a limited extent in French winemaking.
