The variety is an autochthonous wine grape that evolved from wild vines in the Prut River region. The vine is medium-growing, shoots ripen well, and the flower is perfect. The period from bud burst to full berry maturity is 125–140 days with an active temperature sum of 2700–2800 °C.

Bunches are medium-sized, cylindrical or cylindrical-conical in shape, and medium-dense. Berries are medium, round, violet-black, with firm skin and juicy pulp. The variety possesses good resistance to drought and low temperatures, while exhibiting medium or weak resistance to downy mildew and other diseases.

Wines from this variety are characterized by a deep ruby or garnet color and a distinctive aroma of black currant, blackberry, and plum with floral and spicy notes. The wines have aging potential, becoming more complex with time.
