The variety belongs to the Burgundy group and is a periclinal chimera of Pinot Noir. The name "Meunier" is associated with the dense white pubescence on the underside of leaves and shoots. The vine is of medium vigor, with five-lobed and bullate leaves. The clusters are medium-sized, cylindrical-conical, and dense. The berries are small, round, blue-black with a waxy bloom, with thin skin and juicy pulp with uncolored or pink juice.
The variety belongs to the early ripening period. It possesses increased winter hardiness, withstanding temperature drops down to -20.5…-21°C, and resistance to phylloxera. At the same time, the variety is characterized by weak resistance to fungal diseases, such as downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray mold, and requires protection. Wines made from this variety are distinguished by fruity aromas and roundness of taste.
