A fungal disease of oilseed radish caused by a complex of pathogens of the genus Alternaria, manifesting as leaf spotting and pod infection. It develops primarily in the second half of the growing season, especially under conditions of high humidity.

The pathogens causing Alternaria leaf spot in oilseed radish are the fungi Alternaria raphani, Alternaria brassicae, Alternaria brassicicola, and Alternaria alternata. The infection is often complex in nature, with representatives of several species of this genus potentially present on a single plant.
The disease manifests as the appearance of small, round spots on the leaves, which enlarge over time and become covered with a black, sooty layer of spores. Affected tissue areas undergo necrosis, turn yellow, and may drop out, creating holes. When pods are infected, the quality and quantity of the seed material decrease, and the infection persists on the seeds and plant debris.
