When sowing for seed production, it is recommended to sow 1.4–1.9 million viable seeds per hectare, which corresponds to 14–16 kg/ha for drilling and 18–22 kg/ha for wide-row sowing. For use as green manure or forage, rates are increased to 18–25 kg/ha or 2.5–3 million viable seeds, which ensures rapid canopy closure and effective weed suppression.
