Diascia is valued in container gardening for its compactness and cascading blooms. Its cultivation requires proper drainage, moderate watering, and mandatory shoot pruning to stimulate repeat flowering.

For container-grown Diascia, it is critical to avoid waterlogging; therefore, a lightweight substrate with the addition of perlite or vermiculite and mandatory drainage holes must be used. Watering should be performed when the top 2–3 cm of soil has dried out, avoiding overwatering, which contributes to rot development.

The plant requires good lighting, although during intense summer heat, pots should be moved to partial shade to prevent the cessation of flowering. To maintain aesthetic appeal, tip pruning is applied, and after the first flowering wave, the shoots are cut back by half, which stimulates a second wave by autumn.

The crop is noted for its ability to withstand light frosts and its wave-like flowering during cool periods, which distinguishes it from heat-loving annuals. The choice of cultivars depends on the container type: trailing forms are suitable for hanging baskets, while upright ones are better for window boxes and floor pots.
