Variety traits
Anthurium Schott
The inflorescence of anthurium is a morphological structure consisting of a spadix and a spathe, the parameters of which are decisive in assessing a variety for distinctness, uniformity, and stability.
In the reference 45 varieties crop Anthurium, where this is mentioned in the description.
In variety testing, the inflorescence is divided into the spadix, for which length and thickness are evaluated at the midpoint, and the spathe, for which length and width are measured. Measurements are taken on fully formed inflorescences during the female flowering phase, when exudate droplets appear on 1/2–2/3 of the spadix length.
Inflorescence traits, including proportions and physical dimensions in millimeters, are classified according to the variety group and compared with standards to determine commercial value. These characteristics directly influence the vase life of the inflorescence, seed propagation potential, and the plant's classification into mini, medium, or large-flowered variety categories.
