Critical factors for productivity include water availability during the flowering and pegging stages, as well as the physical state of the soil. Excessive vegetative growth with stem heights exceeding 40 cm can reduce yields by hindering the penetration of pegs into the soil for pod formation.

Russian breeding achievements in the Krasnodar Krai region allow for yields of 2.7–3.3 t/ha, with promising lines reaching up to 3.9 t/ha. Final production output is also influenced by planting density and the precision of harvest timing, which prevents kernel underdevelopment or decay in the soil.
