Under competitive cultivar trial conditions, gooseberry productivity is expressed in tons or centners per hectare, as well as in kilograms per individual bush. Average yield values in field experiments range from 1.5 to 5.5 kg per bush, while the potential of individual well-developed plants at 7–8 years of age can reach 15–40 kg, and with intensive agrotechnology, the total yield can reach up to 20 t/ha.
Indicators below 1 kg per bush or 50–80 c/ha indicate the influence of adverse factors, such as improper agrotechnology, diseases, or low cultivar adaptability. In breeding work, critically important criteria include annual yield stability, ecological plasticity, and the correspondence of the bush habit to the requirements of mechanized harvesting.
