The variety has a semi-erect habit and a moderately dense type of development. It provides early spring green-up and is effective in suppressing undesirable grasses. Primary application includes the formation of tee boxes, fairways, and greens on golf courses; it is often used in professional seed mixtures to increase the genetic diversity of the stand.
Regarding diseases, the variety demonstrates resistance to brown patch. Tolerance to dollar spot is evaluated inconsistently, varying in different studies from good to moderate. The variety is a result of breeding improvement of the original Penneagle variety.
