The plant forms elongated root vegetables about 20 cm long with dark brown skin and whitish flesh. The variety historically developed in the vicinity of the village of Talltendre as a result of many years of selection by local farmers.

The turnip has a dense texture that persists during heat treatment, as well as an intense taste and aroma, which is attributed to the influence of the region's calcareous soils. The variety is intended for food consumption, traditionally used in stews and winter recipes.
