The variety is a turnip with a white root color and a purple upper part. Historically, the variety was considered a forage crop, but subsequently moved into the category of garden vegetable varieties.

The plant possesses good resistance to low temperatures, demonstrates the ability to tolerate extreme heat, and is late to transition to flowering. The variety is distinct and differs from externally similar types, such as Bency and Blanc globe à collet violet.
