The plant forms a taproot with a thickened upper part and an upright stem branching from the root neck. The leaves are petiolate, hairy, with broad lateral lobes that increase in size towards the apex. The upper flowering leaves are lanceolate with two rounded auricles clasping the stem.

The greens have an intense green color, a specific taste with slight acidity and bitterness, and a slightly fibrous texture. The crop is ready for harvest 50–60 days after sowing. The variety is adapted to a cool, humid climate and prefers sowing between late July and October.
