The variety belongs to the late-maturing group (serôdio). The roots have an elongated shape, which is why the variety is also known by the common name "ox horn". The root color is white, with a characteristic purple coloration of the upper part ("neck").

The plant produces abundant foliage which is used for food. Due to its high productivity, the variety is traditionally grown as a fodder crop. The plant is adapted to cultivation in temperate and humid climates.
