The variety was bred through selection based on a local Hungarian landrace from the Vas region. The root crops have a flat, round shape; the top part is colored purple, and the bottom is white. The leaf rosette consists of medium-sized, dark green leaves with moderate pubescence.

The flesh of the root crop is white and has a pleasant, sweetish taste with a hint of radish. The variety is distinguished by cold resistance and low soil requirements, provided there is sufficient moisture. It is used as a forage crop and in cooking, including for fermentation.

Sowing is possible in the period from May to August. The variety is often used as a crop for double-cropping on stubble after harvesting grain crops.
